Genesis reeditara 14 de sus 15 álbumes de estudio en formato de vinilo a partir del mes de agosto

Una gran noticia para los todos los fans y coleccionistas de discos de vinilo, el mítico grupo Genesis van a lanzar sus 14 álbumes en LPs de vinilo de 180 gramos.

Este verano, los 14 álbumes de estudio de Genesis lanzados entre los años 1970 y 1997 serán reeditados en formato de vinilo en todo el mundo.

Los 14 discos vendrán Impresos en un vinilo especial de 180 gramos, las reediciones, con versiones mezcladas y remasterizadas por Nick Davis, estarán disponibles en tres fases de distribución.

El único álbum excluido de estas reediciones será "From Genesis to Revelation", su disco de debut del año 1968, que en realidad no fue un LP oficial, sino una posterior recopilación de canciones compuestas en sus inicios, antes del debut oficial con el álbum "Trespass" en 1970.

Desde el día 3 de agosto con “Foxtrot”, el disco doble “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway”, “Duke”, “Abacab” y “Genesis”. El 6 de septiembre se lanzarán “Nursery Cryme”, “Selling England By The Pound”, “Wind & Wuthering”, el álbum doble “We Can’t Dance” y el también doble “Calling All Stations”.

La serie de lanzamientos concluirá el día 27 de septiembre con la reedición de “Trespass”, “A Trick Of The Tail”, “And then there were three” y el exitoso “Invisible Touch”.

Si el comprador se decide por comprarlos de manera individual, los precios oscilaran entre 20,99 y 26,99 euros por disco. El pack completo con los 14 álbumes costara 294 euros, por lo que cada disco cuesta un promedio de 21 euros.

Los álbumes siguen el viaje del grupo, de ser uno que destaca en el panorama del rock progresivo pero sin éxito comercial a ser el grupo más popular e importante de los años 80. Álbum que lanzaban al mercado, álbum que llegaba al puesto número uno. El punk no acabó con el rock progresivo, y con Genesis mucho menos.

Formada en el año 1967 en la escuela por el grupo de amigos Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Anthony Phillips y Mike Rutherford, la formación del grupo se consolidó a principios de los años 70 con la incorporación del baterista Phil Collins y el guitarrista Steve Hackett. Se establecieron como innovadores del rock progresivo con álbumes como “Trespass” (1970), “Foxtrot” (1972) y el estupendo “Selling England by the Pound” (1973).

Después de la partida de Peter Gabriel en el año 1975, Collins asumió con naturalidad el cargo de cantante. A finales de los 70, principio de los 80 la banda se transformó en un trío orientado al pop, consiguiendo éxitos con “Follow You Follow Me” y “Misunderstanding”. Para colmo, Phil Collins iniciaba una muy exitosa carrera en solitario paralela que se sumaba al siempre gran trabajo de Peter Gabriel fuera del grupo.

Cada miembro del grupo siguió su carrera en solitario en los años 80, mientras que Genesis dominaba las listas internacionales con una serie de seis álbumes de platino y multiplatino, incluidos “Abacab”, “Genesis” e “Invisible Touch”.

En 1991, “We Can’t Dance” fue el último álbum de estudio con Phil Collins con voz del grupo. Banks y Rutherford regresaron en 1997 con el cantante Ray Wilson para “Calling All Stations”, último álbum de estudio de toda una leyenda del rock británico.
